I am perplexed by the emphasis the Prime Minister put on reopening car showrooms in his last briefing. Many people are facing financial hardship and precarity because of covid and because of the consequences of the government's mismanagement of this crisis. I am therefore wondering if buying a new car is really the top priority on people's minds right now?
Maybe Johnson thinks that once showrooms reopen, his non-sensical advise to 'avoid public transport if possible' will finally be implementable for everyone?
Maybe Dominic just wants a new car after all this driving around the country...
In any case, it looks like the people in government are not exactly in touch with the reality of the majority in this country.
